Choose a suitable site.

Remove the turf (60cm x 60cm) and place to one side.

Remove the soil to a depth of 40cm and place onto a sheet for ease.

Measure to confirm a 40cm depth.

Place the turf into the hole and chop up.
Step 6 Step 6
The chopped up turf provides added nutrients.

Place the tree and a stake into the hole, ensuring the stake has been placed windward side for protection.

Back-fill the soil, ensuring it coincides with the nursery level, as can be seen by the change of colour on the main trunk.

Firm down the soil as you back-fill.

Fasten the tree using a figure of eight.
